USB-A Hubs
Last updated: April 2026
Sunshine Electronics, a leading manufacturer of USB hubs and USB splitters with 22+ years of experience and over 1,600 workers across dual factories in China and Vietnam, produces the full spectrum of USB-A input hubs — from compact 4-port splitters through 7-port powered hubs with Type-C PD output for legacy-to-modern device bridging. The global USB hub market reached $8.2 billion in 2024 with USB-A variants retaining 42% of active user share thanks to the massive installed base of desktop PCs, 2015–2019 vintage laptops, and single-board computers like Raspberry Pi. Our USB 3.0 hub lineup covers 4-port to 7-port USB hubs, with optional external power for powered USB hub configurations serving high-current peripherals. Every unit carries UL 62368-1, FCC Part 15, CE, RoHS, and REACH certifications in UL94 V-0 flame-rated aluminum housings. Manufactured with China+1 sourcing for tariff optimization on US-bound shipments.

USB-A Hub Engineering
USB-A hub engineering centers on three problems that don’t exist in USB-C hubs: managing aggregate per-port current budgets across 7 ports, maintaining USB 3.0 SuperSpeed signal integrity on downstream ports shared with USB 2.0 devices, and supporting the full backwards-compatibility chain from USB 1.1 legacy peripherals through USB 3.2 modern devices. Our USB-A hub controllers (Genesys Logic and VIA class ICs) handle this complexity while keeping bus-powered operation within the 5A combined envelope that USB 3.0 host specs allow.
Quality Standards & Certifications
Every USB-A hub is manufactured in aluminum alloy housings with UL94 V-0 rated internal components, nickel-plated USB-A receptacles for corrosion resistance, and per-port PTC resettable fuses for fault isolation. Our 6-stage quality control delivers defect rates below 0.12% on shipment. All hubs carry UL 62368-1 certification, with optional external 5V/3A DC input for powered hub configurations.

Global Shipping & Dual-Factory Production
Our dual-factory production spans Changzhou, China (established 2001, 600+ workers) and Vinh Phuc, Vietnam (established 2018, 1,000+ workers). The Vietnam facility provides a China+1 sourcing strategy for tariff optimization on US-bound shipments — identical quality processes, certifications, and production capabilities across both sites. Annual combined capacity exceeds 20 million power adapter units. Standard lead time is 25–35 days from order confirmation. We support multiple logistics methods including FOB, CIF, DDP, and direct-to-Amazon FBA fulfillment.

USB-A Hub Manufacturer FAQ
What types of USB hubs does Sunshine manufacture?
We manufacture USB-A input hubs from 4-port USB hubs through 7-port USB hubs, with combinations of USB 3.0 SuperSpeed and USB 2.0 Hi-Speed output ports. Specialized variants include USB-A to USB-C hybrid hubs (SQS-23082) that let legacy USB-A hosts connect modern USB-C peripherals.
What is the difference between a USB hub and a USB splitter?
The terms are used interchangeably in consumer retail. Technically, a USB splitter is a colloquial term for a USB hub with multiple output ports — all of our products are active USB hubs with an internal USB controller IC, not passive splitters. The terms ‘USB hub’ and ‘USB splitter’ both describe the same device type.
Do you offer powered USB hubs?
Yes — our 7-port USB hubs (SQS-23080, SQS-23082) include an optional 5V/3A DC power input jack, converting them into powered USB hubs for high-current peripheral loads: bus-powered external hard drives, USB-powered desk accessories, simultaneous phone charging, and Raspberry Pi cluster setups.
What USB speeds do your USB 3.0 hubs support?
Our USB 3.0 hubs support 5Gbps SuperSpeed per USB 3.0 port, backwards compatible with USB 2.0 (480Mbps Hi-Speed) and USB 1.1 (12Mbps) devices. SuperSpeed is required for external SSDs, high-resolution webcams, and fast file transfer from USB storage.
Are your USB hubs compatible with Raspberry Pi?
Yes — all our USB hubs are class-compliant devices that work plug-and-play with Raspberry Pi (all models with USB-A ports), Arduino boards, and other single-board computers running Linux kernel 4.4+. No driver installation required.
Do you have dual-factory production?
Yes — Changzhou, China (est. 2001, 600+ workers) and Vinh Phuc, Vietnam (est. 2018, 1,000+ workers). The Vietnam facility provides China+1 sourcing for tariff optimization on US-bound shipments. Both factories maintain identical quality processes and certifications.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ 1,000 units stock configurations, 3,000 custom (color, logo, cable length, external power option). Lead time 25–35 days. Samples 3–7 days. Contact us for pricing →
