Your Dual-Factory Power Adapter & Cable OEM — 23 Years, China + Vietnam
If you spec power adapters, USB-C chargers, or data and AC cables — and your sourcing team needs TL 9000-grade documentation from a dual-factory China + Vietnam OEM that has shipped since 2003 — start here.
For dedicated cable & wire programs, our sister division E-KEY Electronics manufactures USB-C, HDMI, Ethernet, coaxial, and fiber-optic cable assemblies from the same dual-factory facilities.

Sunshine's Changzhou, China headquarters — the original 2003 plant, expanded over 23 years to 25,000 sqm and 200+ tenured operators.
When your sourcing team evaluates a Chinese OEM, the first question isn’t “how big are they?” It’s “will the same plant still be running my line in five years?” The answer for most Chinese suppliers is “probably not the same plant, probably not the same engineering team, and probably not under the same cert scope.” That’s the supplier-risk gap your procurement audit asks you to close.
What 23 years of single-plant tenure buys you is an engineering team that has trained itself on the same product line for two decades. The engineer specing your build today isn’t reading the previous engineer’s documentation — they helped write it. Tooling, fixtures, and test-bench calibration histories compound over the same period. By the time your build hits the line, the institutional knowledge supporting it is two decades deep.
In 2018, Sunshine opened a second self-owned plant in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam — the China+1 hedge before “China+1” was the procurement vocabulary. Vietnam grew to 600+ workers across 12,000 square meters and now runs 64.5 million units per year across power adapters, network cables, phone cables, AC cables, and HDMI cables. The same engineering team that runs Changzhou runs Vinh Phuc. The same cert scope. The same BOM. Identical documentation parity. Your sourcing team doesn’t see a new supplier when production routes from Changzhou to Vinh Phuc — they see the same supplier, two different shipping origins.
Sunshine was founded by Henry Lee in 2003 and is family-operated today. That continuity at the ownership layer is what enables the continuity at the engineering and operator layers — the people running your build aren’t optimizing for next quarter’s exit; they’re optimizing for the next decade’s customer relationships.

AC Power Cords →Two plants — your tariff hedge built in
The real driver of China+1 adoption isn’t this quarter’s tariff arithmetic. Even when current Section 301 rates favor one origin over the other, the math shifts every few months as the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative updates exclusions and rate tiers. What you’re actually buying when you contract a dual-factory OEM is not the current rate — it’s the option to pivot 30 to 50% of your contract volume in 60 to 90 days when policy shifts. The pivot works because the two plants share cert files, share BOM, and share the same engineering team. There’s no new cert path, no new audit, no new sample qualification. The build is the same; only the origin changes.
Sunshine has executed multiple volume pivots between Changzhou and Vinh Phuc for customers in the past 18 months — driven by tariff revisions, lead-time pressure, or contract-pricing optimization. Each was completed without a new cert path. The procurement decision was the entire project; engineering was already done.
Sunshine's two operating plants — Vinh Phuc, Vietnam (top) and Changzhou, China (bottom). Identical QC documentation parity, ISO 9001 / TL 9000 scope at both sites.
When your sourcing team routes a contract through Sunshine, you choose origin per shipment based on your tariff exposure, your lead-time window, and your contract terms. The same engineering team supports both plants. The same cert files travel with every shipment regardless of origin. The same QC records (IQC, IPQC, OQC) live in the same documentation system. What changes between Changzhou and Vinh Phuc is the shipping port and the HTS code — your build doesn’t change.
| Capability | Changzhou (China HQ) | Vinh Phuc (Vietnam) | What this means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Established | 2003 | 2018 | A supplier with 23 years in one plant and 8 years in the next — no startup risk on either side |
| Workforce | 200+ workers | 600+ workers | 800+ trained operators across both plants — your build doesn't queue behind a capacity crunch |
| Footprint | 25,000 sqm | 12,000 sqm | 37,000 sqm of manufacturing floor — headroom for your contract growth |
| Production lines | 25 automated lines | 12+ lines across 5 product families | Same automation discipline at both plants — your unit cost doesn't penalize the China+1 route |
| Power adapter capacity | (combined: 5M+ /yr) | 10M / yr | 15M+ adapters/yr total — your annual buy is a fraction of capacity, not the whole line |
| Network cable capacity | (combined w/ HDMI lines) | 25M / yr | Your carrier-rollout volume is absorbed at the Vietnam plant alone |
| System certifications | TL 9000, ISO 9001/14001/27001, ESD S20.20, QC 080000, BSCI | Same 6-cert posture (documentation parity) | Identical cert documentation from either plant — your auditor sees the same files regardless of origin |
| Section 301 tariff exposure | Full HTS 8504 / 8517 exposure | Substantial-transformation hedge | You choose origin per shipment — your landed cost is yours to engineer, not ours to dictate |
| Best for | Volume scale, mature supply chain, deep tooling library | China+1 hedge, ASEAN-FTA buyers, tariff-blended pricing | Mix-and-match per contract; the same engineering team supports both routes |
From our OEM program team: When a customer asks us "what's your current China/Vietnam split", the honest answer is — it's whatever your contract makes it. Some customers route 100% Vietnam for Section 301 exposure. Some route 100% China for tooling-library access. Most split 60/40 or 70/30 either way. We don't push a default — your landed-cost spreadsheet drives the routing, not ours.
Six certifications that clear your procurement audit
Your procurement audit asks one question: show us the cert files. Sunshine holds six active system certifications across both plants, with full documentation parity — your auditor sees the same files whether the build ships from Changzhou or Vinh Phuc. Each cert below carries a different buyer benefit. The most differentiated is TL 9000 — the telecom-industry-specific QMS that your carrier-tier customers require their suppliers to hold, layered on top of standard ISO 9001.

TL 9000-H R6.1 + ISO 9001:2015 R6.2
The telecom-industry QMS your AT&T / Verizon / carrier-tier buyers require their suppliers to hold

ISO/IEC 27001:2022
Your engineering files, BOMs, and IP stay isolated under a formal information-security program

ISO 14001:2015
EU and retail-channel buyers get the environmental-management cert their compliance teams check

ESD S20.20-2021
Your sensitive components are handled under a formal ANSI/ESD electrostatic-discharge control program

QC 080000
Your RoHS / REACH compliance is backed by a formal Hazardous Substance Process Management system

amfori BSCI (rating C)
Your retail-channel buyers (Walmart / Target tier) get the ethical-sourcing audit they require
Beyond the six system certs Sunshine holds as a company, every adapter that leaves either plant ships with these seven product cert marks on the label:

cULus LISTED

cRUus Recognized

CE

FCC

RoHS

How we protect your build
100%
Hipot tested
Every unit, every build, both plants
3kV
Test voltage
AC, 1-second sustained
1.0%
MIN AQL
Zero-tolerance on Critical defects

Sunshine's Hioki-class Y8800 high-voltage insulation tester — runs 100% production hipot at 3 kV AC for 1 second on every adapter, every build, in both factories.
Every adapter and cable that leaves either Sunshine plant has passed a three-stage QC framework — IQC at incoming, IPQC during build, OQC at outgoing — sampled to GB/T 2828.1-2003 (II) at MIN AQL 1.0%, with zero-tolerance acceptance on Critical and Major defects (“0 to receive, 1 to withdraw”). Your build doesn’t ship if the lot fails.
At IQC, every component sub-batch is sampled before it touches a production line. At IPQC, the first piece off every machine setup is confirmed before the run starts, then sampled at fixed intervals across SMT, through-hole, ICT, hipot, and burn-in. At OQC, the finished lot passes a pre-shipment audit at AQL 1.0% on the same sampling table — Critical defects must be zero or the lot doesn’t leave.
The check we never compromise on is the 100% production hipot test. Every adapter, every build, every plant — gets 3,000 volts AC for one second on a Hioki-class Y8800 insulation tester before it’s released. Not a sample. Every unit. Other named equipment on the line includes the Chroma 8030 and 8020 comprehensive auto-test rigs, the ADSYS 7000 ICT, the ST-516 AOI, the TESEQ lightning tester for surge immunity, and Fluke cable certifiers for Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat6a channel performance.
For the full QC funnel — every one of the 10 production stages mapped onto the IQC/IPQC/OQC framework, with the specific defect codes and acceptance thresholds — see our Quality & Manufacturing page.
From our QC team: The hipot test on every adapter is the line we never cross. Even on rush builds, even on small-batch samples, every unit gets 3 kV for one second before it leaves the line. It's the cheapest insurance against a field failure that costs your warranty desk ten times what the test costs us.
Scale that absorbs your annual buy
Your annual buy is a fraction of our capacity, not the whole line. The Vietnam plant alone runs 10 million power adapters per year, 25 million network cables, 13 million phone cables, 10 million AC cables, and 6.5 million HDMI cables — 64.5 million units per year across major product families. The Changzhou plant adds 25 automated lines of additional throughput on top. Your build slots into existing capacity headroom — no line-construction lead time, no capacity-conflict negotiations with other customers, no surprise queue behind a higher-priority account.
800+
800+ trained operators
200+ in Changzhou (15-year average tenure), 600+ in Vinh Phuc. Your build is staffed by tenured operators, not contract labor.
10M adapters/yr
10M adapters/year
Vietnam plant capacity alone. Your annual buy of 50K–500K units is 0.5% to 5% of one plant's headroom.
25M cables/yr
25M network cables/year
Vietnam plant capacity. Your carrier-rollout volume routes through three dedicated production lines.
What you build with us
The buyers we work with are telecom carriers, AV and set-top-box brands, connector manufacturers, and carrier networking equipment OEMs — companies whose own customers expect documentation parity, tariff flexibility, and engineering responsiveness from every link in the supply chain. Most relationships are under NDA, so you won't see logos on this page. But four things our customers build with us are consistent across every relationship.
A multi-year cert runway you can plan against
When your product roadmap depends on the same cert files holding for five years, you need a supplier whose cert scope grows with you, not one that shrinks under your feet. Sunshine's six-cert posture has held continuously across both plants since the Vinh Phuc expansion — no scope changes, no surprise re-audits at year four.
A tariff strategy you control, not a tariff outcome you absorb
Your team owns the procurement decision to route 30 to 50% of contract volume between China and Vietnam within 60 to 90 days, on the same cert files, the same BOM, the same engineering team. The pivot is your procurement project, not our engineering project.
An engineering partner who answers on your hardware team's clock
When your hardware engineer needs a connector swap, a voltage variant, or a regional cert overlay, the spec gets answered by the same engineering team that designed the original — not an account manager routing the question through a sourcing layer. Spec-change quotes typically come back in days, not weeks.
An audit pack that's ready before your auditor asks
Every shipment carries the cert files, the IQC/IPQC/OQC records, the hipot logs, the burn-in pass list. Documentation isn't generated on request; it's generated on the line and stored under the same QMS that the cert audits use. When your auditor schedules a visit, the pack is already complete.
From our OEM program team: The customers who build the most with us are the ones who tested us on the boring stuff first — a 10K-unit pilot, a single connector variant, a single cert overlay. When the boring stuff lands clean, the 500K-unit volume contract follows. We'd rather earn your business one careful pilot at a time than win it on a pitch and lose it on the first audit.
Engineering on your spec, not ours
If your build needs a custom voltage, a non-standard connector, a regional cert overlay, or a topology change from silicon to GaN — your spec drives our engineering, not the other way around. Sunshine runs a dedicated in-house engineering team covering PSU design, EMC layout, and cert engineering across both plants. Three tiers of customization, depending on how much of the design you own:
White Label
Fastest · Lowest MOQ
Your branding, packaging, and label on a Sunshine-engineered platform.
Best fit when the underlying spec is fine and you just need brand consistency on the box.
Custom OEM
Mid lead time · Mid MOQ
Your spec — voltage, connector, cert path, EMI target, mechanical envelope — engineered onto a proven Sunshine topology.
Best fit when the product matters and the underlying platform is flexible.
Full ODM
Longest lead time · Highest MOQ
Your product target — form factor, performance window, cert path, target landed cost — engineered from a clean sheet.
Best fit when you're launching a new product line and need a partner that owns the design from spec to ship.

Tooling + first-article

Sunshine's Chroma 8030 comprehensive auto-test rig — runs the full electrical-performance pass on every adapter spec we engineer, before the design moves to pre-production tooling.
Cert engineering runs in parallel where the cert path is known up front, or as a separate workstream when a new cert overlay is part of the program.
For the full service-tier breakdown — White Label vs Custom OEM vs Full ODM, plus the engineering process behind each — see our OEM / ODM Manufacturing page.
From our engineering team: The spec we love most is the one that comes with a target failure mode — "this adapter cannot fail under X" — rather than a target feature list. Failure-mode specs let us topology-select with your downstream warranty exposure in mind. Feature-list specs work too, but failure-mode specs make better products.
